In his letter to Timothy, Paul asserts that God dwells in unapproachable light and mortal men cannot look upon Him.
“I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power.” 1 Timothy 6:13-16, NKJV
Furthermore, Revelation tells of a city inhabited by God that requires no sun or moon because the glory of God illuminates it instead!
“The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it.” Revelation 21:23, NKJV
Thinking on these things brought to mind a random thought that took my breath away and changed my perspective on the immensity of God’s glory. The thought was this:
What if the sun is just a small beam of God’s glory shining through a window pane of heaven?
