“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:3-6, NKJV)
In light of the ongoing debate within various theological circles regarding predestination, this passage tells us that God’s sovereign will is always fulfilled. Most of us tend to forget that God is not constrained to our limited viewpoint, so He can see beyond it.
Even though we still have the free will to choose, God can see beyond the infinite number of choices that are available to us. Furthermore, He can use each of these available choices, both good and bad, to accomplish His will in the end. Furthermore, for all believers, we can have the utmost confidence that God will finish the good work started within us. (Philippians 1:6, NKJV)
